The course is an introduction to Paul's Corinthian writings.
Paul founded a congregation in Corinth. After leaving, he hears about problems and misunderstandings developing. He writes 1st Corinthians as his response.
We will read together several chapters (1-4, 10-15). You will also receive some historical background information. We will experience reading Scripture together. While reading Paul involves work (learning about history), there is much value to be gained for us as modern Christians.
Paul has to teach again to the Corinthians what the Gospel is. So, what is the Gospel for us today? Can Paul help us to have faith? Can Paul help us to know God in our present age?
