Holy Trinity Anglican Church and Redshift Music Society present the Bouncy Castle Organ Extravaganza, an event for all ages on Saturday August 25th, 10am-2pm. Admission is free but donations to Holy Trinity’s organ restoration fund are gratefully received.
For the first time ever, organ pipes will be powered by a bouncy castle. Beach balls, air mattresses, and balloon animals will also be on hand, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own inflatables. Anything that holds air can and will be connected to Holy Trinity’s collection of pipes ranging from eight inches to eight feet in length.
Members of the Royal Canadian College of Organists will be present to answer questions and provide demonstrations of how organ pipes produce sound. Visitors can also take part in building and playing a real, functioning organ, thanks to the RCCO’s recent acquisition of an Orgelkids organ kit.
Throughout the day, several tours of Holy Trinity’s historic building will be given, including performances and demonstrations on the heritage Casavant organ Opus 485 (1912).
