The Cathedral choir will lead the first Choral Evensong of 2020, to mark the feast of The Presentation of Jesus Christ in the Temple, and the feast of Candlemas.
The music for this sung service features contemporary composer Arvo Pärt, whose work "opens a door in the inner world of one of the most spiritually intense composers of our time.” says Dorian Supin. Pärt himself is quoted as saying: “Love each sound! This is how a composer must understand music. This knowledge opens an entirely new world. How to reach that understanding is probably a secret and requires much work…”
