At Evensong, Herbert O’Driscoll, prolific author, renowned Anglican storyteller and preacher, former Rector of Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver, and former Dean of the Diocese of New Westminster will be reading from his new book:
A Greening of Imaginations – Walking the Songlines of Holy Scripture
A book signing, opportunities to purchase the book, and a reception will follow the worship in the Cathedral’s Parish Hall.
This new book asks “How do the scriptures speak to us today and where do our personal stories mirror biblical stories?”
Herb’s writings have this almost magic quality of putting the reader right into the heart of the biblical world. The chapters in this new book can be used for personal devotion or as discussion starters for groups.

The Cathedral presents Choral Evensong as an offering to the whole Vancouver community, where lovers of choral music can gather together in the city’s best mid-size performance venue for an afternoon celebration of song.
Consisting of a mix of 27 talented volunteers and 8 paid singers, the Cathedral Choir has a remarkably large and varied repertoire. The main function of the choir is to celebrate the Sunday morning Eucharist through hymns, psalms, motets, along with choral and congregational mass settings. In addition, the women’s and men’s scholae alternately sing the office of Compline every Sunday evening at 8pm.
Repertoire for the Evensong will include music by Herbert Howells (Collegium Regale) and John Joubert.
