As we enter the Season of Creation, a global annual celebration of prayer and action to protect creation celebrated by Christians of all traditions, we thought we would feature a new Canadian film by B.C. filmmaker, Christine Welsh.
The Thinking Garden, a film about three generations of older women in a village in South Africa, who came together in the dying days of apartheid to create a community garden.
2017 Vancouver Women in Film Festival - Matrix Award Winner and the sole Canadian film chosen for presentation at the 2018 United Nations Women's Film Festival in Amman, Jordan - "The Thinking Garden" is a documentary to watch.
The film’s cinematographer and editor, Moira Simpson, will be in attendance to introduce the film and answer questions after the screening.
Donations from this screening will go to the grandmothers in South Africa, to support their community garden.
St. Paul’s rector, Reverend Philip Cochrane, will open the evening with a short discussion about the Season of Creation.
Doors open at 6pm, Programme begins at 7pm
Please bring a reusable, covered drink container and a reusable straw.
