As the southern resident orcas suffer, the Trans Mountain pipeline and tanker project looms, and salmon runs decline it has never been more clear that the Salish Sea needs all of us. The Lummi Nation is again rising up to protect their homelands to the benefit of us all. We share the responsibility to protect our waters, our salmon, and qwe'lhol'mechen (orcas).
On September 27, the Lummi are calling for a gathering at the border to show that no line on land or in the water divides us - we are of one mind - when it comes to protecting our shared home. This event will represent a strengthening healing, in body and spirit, for the orcas, for all of us, and for the sacred and endangered waters of the Salish Sea.
People coming from the Seattle area and would like to ride a bus, may reserve a seat here. All other carpools can self organize on this link.
