The local bee population has been in serious decline in BC and at St. Helen's we want to do something about that. On March 6 at 11:30am we're bringing together a dozen families from St. Helen's and our neighbourhood to make a number of Mason bees nests to help restore the population.
Our local bee expert, Dick Scarth, will lead the effort.
We've chosen Mason bees because they are the local bees, indigenous to this area, so the pollinate at a much higher rate than other bees. Also they don't sting, and ya, that's important!
