DESCRIPTION:St. Brigids is Christ Church Cathedral's Sunday Evening congreg
 ation\, meeting weekly at 5.30pm.\nWe are an emerging\, LGBTQ-affirming C
 hristian community rooted in the Anglican tradition located in downtown V
 ancouver. This is a Christian community where questions are honoured\, f
 aith is nurtured\, and discipleship pursued.\nSt. Brigids meets for worshi
 p in the Cathedral's chancel\, located on the upper level of this historic
  church on the corner of West Georgia and Burrard.\nYou are welcome to thi
 s historic Anglican Cathedral Church in the heart of Vancouver located on 
 the traditional territory of the Musqueam\, Squamish\, and Tsleil-waututh 
 First Nations.\nWhat to Expect\nFounded as a ministry of the Cathedral in 
 its 125th year\, the St. Brigids congregation emerges from the liturgic
 al and spiritual traditions of the Anglican church. Together\, we're expe
 rimenting with ways of more actively involving all members of our communi
 ty in the creation of and participation in the liturgy.\nThe St. Brigids 
 liturgy has a familiar shape to other Anglican liturgies with some noticea
 ble differences.\nOur evening begins with a wide welcome\, an overview of 
 the service and music practice before we gather with the help of an openin
 g song and prayers. Throughout the liturgy\, we make use of times of sil
 ence and stillness. We read scripture\, sing and pray together as we sit i
 n the round\, facing one another.\nDuring this time\, children are invited
  to take part in Godly Play\, a Montessori-based approach to exploring the
  scriptures.\nThe homily (or sermon) is shared\, and offers a time when me
 mbers of the community respond to and complete the initial reflections 
 offered by the preacher.\nWe gather together around the altar to particip
 ate in the Eucharist\, offering bread and wine to one another in the name 
 of Jesus. Finally\, we are sent out into the world\, as we seek to live li
 ves reflective of Christ's gospel throughout the remainder of the week.\nT
