The theme for Diocesan Synod 2019 (May 24 & 25) is Love One Another: Christ’s Body, the Church (John 15:12). It is both the gospel lesson for the day and the beginning of the verses our Primate, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, uses as foundational scripture to his work, The Heartbeat of the Church. We are fortunate that our Primate, the Most Reverend Fred Hiltz will be with us at our 119th Synod, preaching at Morning Prayer and speaking to us about our church’s ministry and witness nationally and globally.
The theme, Love One and Other: Christ’s Body, the Church, draws our attention to our Diocesan Vision Priority “Our God entrusts us with the stewardship of our lives and our communities.
One bread, one body
One Lord of all
One cup of blessing which we bless
And we, though many
Throughout the earth
We are one body in this one Lord [Common Praise, #73]
As one faithful body we embrace the opportunity to learn about the remarkable work taking places in ministries around our diocese and the revision and updating of our Constitution and Canons. Interactive presentations, table discussions and feed-back will be used to encourage an atmosphere or learning, discovery and discussion.
