WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 7pm
SIX SESSIONS: SEPTEMBER 24 – OCTOBER 29
at St. John's Anglican ChurchLast September, thousands participated in the Truth and Reconciliation hearings in Vancouver, and also the Walk for Reconciliation. It was a deeply moving and hopeful event. The work of truth and reconciliation continues, a project in many ways only just begun.
Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9ish, there will be opportunity to explore the story of European and First Nations interaction in recent history and as it continues to unfold in the present. The course will serve to create awareness and understanding of some of the historical and ongoing issues relating to First Nations people in this country, and a better appreciation of the importance of their presence as first peoples of this part of the world.
This series will be facilitated by the Ven. Grant Rodgers, based on several video resources and will also involve reflection on the use and mis-use of scripture. We will also hear the witness of a man who grew up as a First Nations person; he will facilitate discussion around the Residential Schools legacy.
This course is open to all, but class size is limited. Call 604-315-2891 or email rhgr@shaw.ca SOON to sign up.
