On Friday, February 3rd it was announced that the Rev’d Jonathan Clark, Priest-in-Charge of St John’s Brownswood Park will be the
10th Bishop of Croydon.
Jonathan is the brother of the Venerable Ellen Clark-King, Priest Associate of Christ Church Cathedral and Archdeacon of Burrard and also (of course) the brother-in-law of the Rev’d Jeremy Clark-King Priest-in-Charge of St. Christopher, West Vancouver.
The announcement was made by the current Bishop of Croydon, the Right Reverend Nick Baines who has been appointed Bishop of Bradford.
As a suffragan bishop of the Diocese of Southwark, Jonathan will oversee the Episcopal Area of Croydon, made up of the Archdeaconries of Croydon and Reigate which together contain 112 parishes.
Jonathan will be consecrated March 21st, 2012 and installed at a date still to be announced. Congratulations!
