Thank you all for your continuing diligence and vigilance working with the protocols and mandates related to this ongoing pandemic. I'm sure that many of you are aware of the information that was communicated on Thursday, March 10, 2022, during B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry's and Minister of Health Adrian Dix's press conference.
The province’s mask mandate is being lifted, the province’s vaccination card program will end soon, the order restricting overnight and youth camps is lifted, and capacity limits on faith gatherings is being lifted.
This information although not unexpected is very encouraging. However, for parishes in the Diocese of New Westminster I am asking that we continue with the current guidelines and directives as outlined in my February 15, 2022, pastoral letter through this weekend. For Sunday, March 13, Lent II we will stay on the current course. This will give us time to plan how we gather to worship together, respecting those who may not be ready to return to indoor gatherings where people are not masked and there are no restrictions on capacity.
For your reference the February 15 letter is linked here.
We will circulate the new protocols next week.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment and support.
Blessings and Peace,
