Camp Artaban's summer has been successful again this year, with over 730 campers attending during the camp's 11-week long season.

A major youth ministry for the Diocese of New Westminster, Camp Artaban on Gambier Island in Howe Sound marked its 83rd season since its founding in 1924.

Hopefully, it will be one of the last for the camp's aging Dining Hall, built in 1935, which has seen better days - if a recently announced campaign to raise the funds for a replacement is successful. Gifts of about half a million dollars have been secured but another $2 million is needed.

The Artaban board of directors is trying to find former campers and friends of Artaban so they can receive information about the campaign and be given a chance to donate. For information, call 604 980-0391 or send an email to campaign@campartaban.com.
A very professional musical play was presented to parents and other visitors by those who attended Art Camp this summer.
