The Reverend Helen Dunn, currently assistant priest (Cathedral Vicar) at Christ Church Cathedral has been appointed Rector of St Clement, Lynn Valley and will begin on August 16. She currently lives in North Vancouver and this will allow her to be fully engaged and present in the parish. Helen succeeds the Reverend Andre Stephany.

The Reverend Paula Porter Leggett is Priest-in-Charge beginning on June 1 and through until Rev. Dunn begins her incumbency.

As announced three weeks ago, Bishop John Stephens has appointed the Reverend Ken Vinal, Rector of St. Stephen's, West Vancouver, effective June 1, 2021.

Reverend Vinal succeeds Canon Jonathan LLoyd who retired May 31, 2021 and returned to his home and family in the UK.

Here is a brief biography:

Ken Vinal comes to St. Stephen’s and the Diocese of New Westminster from the Diocese of Central Florida of the Episcopal Church where he served as Chaplain of Trinity Preparatory School from 2000 to 2017. He is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. Ken was raised in the Presbyterian church, and in university joined the Episcopal Church.    

Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Florida, and a Master of Divinity from the University of the South (Sewanee). He was ordained a deacon and Priest in the Diocese of Florida, Episcopal Church. He served as assistant rector at Good Shepherd, Lexington, Kentucky; as assistant rector at Holy Trinity, Melbourne, Florida; as rector of St. Johns, Kissimmee, Florida; and as Chaplain of Trinity Preparatory School, Winter Park, Florida. Ken also served as an associate priest to St Matthews, Orlando. In addition to his chaplain ministry, Ken oversaw the school’s building of 17 Habitat for Humanity houses. He also coached the boys cross country team to seven state championships, and two small-school national championships.
