The concert held at Holy Trinity Cathedral and hosted by the Reverend Dale Yardy and the Parish of Holy Trinity, New Westminster on March 8 with Cathy AJ Hardy & band was a magical evening of music for many. Approximately 150 people from all over the Greater Vancouver area attended, including women from Monarch Place, a transition house in New Westminster, who were in attendance as guests.
Augmented by an incredibly talented 6 member band as well as 12 year old Rebecca Sichon who joined in for 3 songs, Cathy sang her original songs and told stories from her soul journey. Perhaps the evening is best expressed through the voice of one concert-goer:
“Cathy, I want to say a big Thank You to you for the concert we attended in New West. Your songs are with me during the day and I wake up with them on my heart in the morning. I was so struck with not only the musicianship of your music but the truth of your music. You demonstrated to us throughout your “performance” what standing in your truth looks like. It seems that we wear so many hats, or take on so many roles, that we forget who we actually are. Way down deep, at our core, it has been hard for me to get words around how profoundly the experience affected me. I don’t know what your journey has been to bring you to this place of sharing such truth, but it was like a lesson in watching someone commune with Spirit, having Spirit move through you to bless and instruct us”.
Cathy is looking to partner with other parishes that would like to create an evening concert in their community. If interested, please contact her by email
