On January 26, 2011,
David Kato, a Ugandan gay rights advocate, was brutally murdered. His death has sent shock waves around the world and we are grieving this courageous prophet and leader in the fight for justice for all.
This coming Sunday, February 6,the community of
St. Paul’s Anglican Church is hosting a memorial service and prayer vigil at 7pm to commemorate the life of David Kato
Both of these worship services will serve to celebrate his courageous witness to the full inclusion of all into society, and to offer prayer and support for all those who have been victimized in state and church because of their sexuality or gender identity. Lay and ordained ministers of the Diocese of New Westminster and beyond will conduct the services.
During and after the service at St. Paul's, the Labyrinth will be open to provide space for silent prayer, meditation, and contemplation.
All are welcome!
Also at St. Paul's, Diocesan clergy will be available to answer questions following the Memorial Service.
