The Diocese of New Westminster was honoured to be asked to participate in the Vancouver Whitecaps July 9, Faith and Family Night event at BC Place. A number of folks from the diocese, primarily represented by an enthusiastic contingent from the St. Matthias and St. Luke worshipping community joined diocesan Director of Mission and Ministry, the Reverend Ruth Monette and her family as they enjoyed the Whitecaps playing to a 2-2 draw with Colorado .
After the match, Whitecaps defender Kendall Watson presented a talk about how his faith and how it connects to his career as a professional athlete and also to the other components of his life.
Thanks to rector, the Reverend Vivian Lam for forwarding these great shots and to her spouse Bascom Guffin for the second image, a photo of Vivian, Isabella and Mark with Kendall Watson and his young son.
