Film Company Helps Stock Food Pantry Shelves

Every year St. John the Divine in Maple Ridge serves as a location for several movie shoots. This year, one of the scripts called for a scene with a holiday food drive. The production staff knew that the parish keeps a basket for donations to our local food pantry in the sanctuary, so they collected prop foods that would work for the needs of the food pantry that St. John the Divine supports.

At the end of the day, 7 large boxes of non-perishable items were gathered to be sent to a new location, and eventually to the tables of our neighbours.

St. John the Divine is pleased to be able to provide locations to support our local film industry, and is grateful for the generosity they’ve shown for the needs of our city.

While we cannot share details about the movie, we can tell you to expect it among this year’s holiday film selections. It’ll be the one with the food drive.
