A very Happy Birthday on March 6 to the Most Reverend Douglas Hambidge. It is a milestone birthday for the Archbishop and we wish him many happy returns.
Archbishop Hambidge served as Bishop of Caledonia from 1969 to 1980, as Bishop of New Westminster, 1980 to ’93, and as Metropolitan of the ecclesiastical province of British Columbia and Yukon, 1981-93. Archbishop Hambidge was born in England, served in the armed forces in World War II and was ordained in 1953.
There was a joyful celebration in honour of his natal day at the Parish of All Saints', Ladner on Sunday, March 5. Rector of All Saints', the Venerable Elizabeth Northcott reported that all the members of the family except for one grandson were in attendance. Photos and a story will arrive later.
This is also an opportunity to publish online Wayne Chose's great photo from March 1, 2014.
