The Cathedral Chapter is proposing that an honourary order - the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster - recognize laity who have given exemplary service.
Dean Peter Elliott said that the Chapter, a group that includes the diocesan archdeacons plus representatives from each of the ten deaneries and the Cathedral, feel that people who do long service in their parish or for the diocese should be celebrated.
