This is an open invitation from the British Columbia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada to atend the ordination of The Rev. Dr. Gregory Mohr as Bishop. The service will take place Monday, July 5th, 7pm at
Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 - 148th Street in South Surrey (White Rock).
Worship will be followed by a reception.
Bishop-elect Mohr was ordained in 1983 after attending Lutheran Theological Seminary, Saskatoon. He first served Lutheran Church of the Master in Airdrie (1983-1995), Alberta and then King of Life Lutheran in Coquitlam (1995 – 2007), when he became Assistant to the Bishop.
Bishop-elect Mohr's father was a Lutheran priest and Greg earned his Doctor of Ministry from St. Stephen’s, University of Alberta, writing a dissertation concerning the experience of being a pastor’s child. Bishop-elect Mohr is married to LaRee and is the father of Joel and Carmelle.
The B.C. Synod has fifty-five congregations located in every region of the province. It is the smallest of the five synods of the ELCIC. With 180,000 members, the ELCIC is the major Lutheran body in Canada.
