Our diocese, along with the Catholic archdiocese and United Church BC conference office is pleased to be sponsoring a visit by Brother Emile of Taizé and in preparation Christ the Redeemer is offering an opportunity to learn new Taizé chants not found in Common Praise (the “blue hymn book”)
We will learn about a dozen new chants and unveil the Taizé Vancouver songbook which you can take with you to use in your parish as a musical resource. (Any parish which has purchased a music copyright license with includes G.I.A., has the rights to the music with their license)
This would be an excellent thing to pass on to your music leader or a few key musical types in your parish. Please join us at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, 16613 Bell Road from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. You can email us at registrar@ctrchurch.com if you are coming. You are welcome to decide at the last minute to come: draw the circle wide J (nb: which we are not singing…)
In 1882 we were the heart of Surrey Centre. Everyone else should check a google map: http://ctrchurch.com/church/who-are-we-2/where-to-find-us/
Participants will also be invited to join us for our Taizé Vancouver celebration at St. Andrews-Wesley United Church in Vancouver to form “choir nodes” to help lead the singing at this city-wide Taizé prayer!
