The accompanying photo (second in the right pane scroll) of the Very Reverend Peter Elliott, dean of the Diocese of New Westminster and rector of Christ Church Cathedral (CCC) was taken at 10:30am, Sunday, June 18 while he was making the announcement that a new vicar for CCC has been chosen by the canonical committee and appointed by Bishop Melissa Skelton.

The new vicar will be the Reverend Helen Dunn, currently assistant to the dean at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer in the Diocese of Calgary. Having been in this ministry position for a couple of years Dean Peter quipped that she has experience with cathedral ministry but more importantly she has had experience with "deans".

Reverend Dunn begins her ministry at CCC September 1, 2017. Plans are in the works for a number of opportunities around the parish to meet and greet the new vicar in parishioners homes and at CCC events.
