At 5:15 pm on Saturday, August 23rd the aroma of savoury salmon filled the air of the St. Anselm’s grounds located in the beautiful UBC Endowment Lands neighbourhood.

About 40 folks both parishioners and guests attended the community building and fundraising event.

The salmon steaks were carefully prepared by parishioner/grillmaster Kin Ho who featured two recipes; salmon cooked on the grill in foil with lemon and dill and salmon cooked on the grill in foil with fennel and mixed vegetables. There were also salmon steaks available for the purist sans accoutrements grilled on the rack.

Following a story about the salmon and a blessing offered by St. Anselm’s priest-in-charge the Reverend Canon Harold Munn the buffet was opened and staffed by People’s Warden, Shirin Theophilus who made sure that everyone was served.

The event was enjoyed by all and was a great way to spend a late summer evening.
