The image that you see with this post was a visual in our Zoom service for Trinity Sunday at St. Cuthbert, Delta. During the Postlude there was a close-up.  The hanging was created by parishioner Beth Fortin, a member of the Skowlitz First Nation. While Kelly Bowman was on Altar duty last Saturday, she saw the hanging and immediately thought of the discovery of the remains of 215 children at the site of the former Kamloops Residential School.  She called me and ran her idea past me to hang a pair of children’s shoes on the hanging.  I asked her to ask Beth.  Beth said, “Yes.”

We spoke of expressing the love of the Triune God, making that mystery known through working for peace with justice including reconciliation with First Nations, Metis and Inuit, working to respond to the climate crisis and working to meet the housing needs of those in our community.
