Interested in the oldest music tradition in Christian worship? For centuries Gregorian Chant has been at the centre of our liturgy. This fall the VSO School of Music in downtown Vancouver is offering an 8-week course, September 14th - November 30th 1-2:30pm on the history and performance practice of chant and the instructor will be St. Helen, Point Grey's, Director of Music, Dr. Kevin Zakresky. The class will explore the historical context of monastic music and give students the skills to read notation systems, understand performance techniques and lead others to discover the beauty and spiritual power of this treasure of our Christian Heritage.
