The Anglican Church Women (ACW) of St. Hilda's, Sechelt, organized a Strawberry Tea held on July 8, 2023 and invited all the friends and neighbours, together with parishioners, as a community building effort. It was well attended. Tea, coffee and home baked scones with sliced locally grown strawberries and whipped cream, were served for a donation of $5.
The Strawberry Tea also included the ever-popular silent auction for a beautiful gift basket containing an array of fixings to make delicious sundaes. When the Tea event was nearing conclusion, the table centres of fresh flowers were sold by donation. In all $700 was raised. This proceeds will be dedicated to community and international outreach. Decisions about recipients will be made in December.
Parish ACW President, Amelia Foster, ODNW, with the help of members and parishioners coordinated the event. Marylin Roberts assembled the basket of goodies and created and prepared the certrepieces. A big thank you to all who participated to make the Tea a success.
