Screening in Faith Overview

Good Safe Church practices are vital for safeguarding our parishes. A major component of this is our Screening in Faith policy for all staff and volunteers. In this section you will find information about the Screening in Faith policy and how to implement it in your parish. You will also find information about Safe Church Training.

A Note of Thanks

This work is complex and can be arduous at times, but it is vital in ensuring the safety of all members of this Diocese. Thank you for doing this important work! When you ensure that people are trained and checked you are not only complying with Diocesan policies, but you are encouraging participants to know their rights and responsibilities and to hold each other accountable for the safety of our church. These steps may not stop abuse and harassment from happening, but they can help prevent it wherever possible. If you would like any further support or clarification, please contact the Screening-in-Faith Adminstrator or the Executive Archdeacon.

We are grateful to the Diocese of Toronto who gave permission to adapt from their screening process and materials.
