The Mission to Seafarers have been continously active in the Diocese of New Westminster for 115 years. Over those years, the Flying Angel Club has welcomed over 2 million seafarers from around the globe. Operating at both the Port Metro Vancouver in both Vancouver and Roberts Bank, the Mission provides a warm and hospitable "home away from home" for visiting seafarers. Services include WiFi to connect with loved ones, shopping (Canadian souvenirs and personal items), recreation and entertainment, and chaplaincy services such as prayer, counseling, and worship services and the Sacraments.

The Reverend Peter Smyth was inducted Senior Port Chaplain, September 20, 2016 by Archbishop Skelton.  The Senior Port Chaplain liaises with the Board of Directors and the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster; heads up the Ecumenical Team of harbour chaplains who visit the ships to minister to the needs spiritual and temporal of visiting sailors; represents the Mission to the Port and local Marine Industry and Community, to our support Parishes, to our international Head Office in London England, and to the visiting seafarers through the extensive services ministered by the Mission to Seafarers at both our branches in Vancouver and Roberts Bank.
